What is eScore?
eScore is a residential energy efficiency program that:
- Provides homeowners with a clear path to make their home a 10 - its most energy efficient!
- Increases home comfort and saves money!
eScore allows homeowners to work toward a score of 10 for their home at their own pace, earning rebates on qualified energy efficiency upgrades and re engaging with the program as many times as needed to achieve their home’s best possible energy performance. How do I apply for a loan?
Financing options vary by local power company. To find out which options are available in your area, please create an account or login at www.2escore.com. If your local power company has partnered with Vanderbilt, there will be an ‘Apply for Financing’ button on the My eScore tab that will take you directly to our easy and convenient, online application process.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. The application process is completely free.
Why do I need to create an account?
Creating an account during the application process has multiple benefits. It allows you to complete your online application, track your loan progress, and close your loan. After closing, you can continue to log in to make free online payments, set up automatic draft, review payment history, and check your loan balance. Additionally, in order to log into this site, you will be prompted to answer one of the security questions you created. This ultimately helps us protect your identity.
How long is my approval good for?
Your approval is valid for ninety days. If your application expires you will have to reapply.
What upgrades are eligible for financing?
Any energy efficient upgrade installed by a member of TVA’s Quality Contractor Network through the eScore program is eligible for financing.
Can I elect to do more than one upgrade at a time?
Yes. You are able to complete as many energy efficiency upgrades as you want, subject to your maximum loan amount of $15,000.
Do certain contractors need to perform the upgrades on my home in order to be eligible for financing?
Yes. The contractor must be a member of the TVA Quality Contractor Network (QCN) in order for the upgrades to be eligible for financing. To view QCN members in your area, please visit www.2escore.com.
How is my contractor paid?
For your convenience, we will pay your contractor directly. During the loan closing process, you will be able to tell us how much of your completed upgrades you would like to finance. We will pay that amount to your contractor.
What terms are offered on the eScore loans?*
We offer up to 120 month (10 year) loan term with loan amounts up to $15,000.
Why is my approval for $15,000?*
$15,000 is the maximum approval amount in the eScore loan program. To provide you with the most flexibility and efficiency, all loans are approved up to the maximum amount. Your actual loan amount will be based on cost of the energy efficiency upgrades that your contractor completes. You will have the option to finance all or a part of the cost of the upgrades.
How do I sign my loan documents?
The loan process is completely online. For your ease and convenience, all loan documents can be electronically signed. Once signed, you will be able to save the documents to your computer or print for your records.
Why do I have to answer identification questions?
We take privacy and security very seriously. In order for us to verify your identity, we use a highly trusted and secure validation process. During your application, you will be asked to answer a few questions, which are based on your personal history. These questions may be challenging, and you may even need your records to answer them.
What do I do if I miss the identification questions?
Don’t worry. The questions are used to verify who you are and may be challenging or not of recent memory. If you miss the questions, we will work with you to verify your identity and get you back into the online loan process.
When is my first payment due? How do I make a payment?
Your first due date will be on your loan paperwork. You will also receive a coupon book to keep track of your monthly payments. Additionally, you will be able access your payment due dates by logging into your Vanderbilt account. You will have access to make free online payments along with several other account features. There is no prepayment penalty, and access to make a payment is available 24 hours a day.
Can I pay off my loan early?
Yes. You can pay your loan off anytime without penalty.
How can I request a payoff?
Payoff requests will be available online. It will also give you instructions on how to send that payoff.
